  • Provide overall leadership to the whole service, ensuring that the volunteers are taken care of and that the service runs as smoothly as possible.

    1. Caring for people: Our volunteers come to serve the church, and your role is to serve them, love them, and help them to feel valued and appreciated for their service.

    2. Troubleshooting: There might be things that need a bit of figuring out. We need you to take the lead with that and help find the solutions.

    3. Taking care of the hall: We are so grateful for the ongoing use of the hall, and we want to respect and honour the owners.

Main Tasks

    • Familiarise yourself with the service and who is on using Elvanto.

    • Open up the hall, switch on lights, aircons, urn, and unlock the storage cupboards.

    • Welcome volunteers as they arrive, and offer help if they need it.

    • Ensure that the hall is tidy and ready to go for the service.

    • Ensure the tech person has the right songs and slides.

    • Ensure that the key people up front (preacher, worship and service leader) know when they’re on and who needs the mic.

  • You’re leading this, so quite simply, use this time to check in with the various team leaders and ask what they’ve got planned for the morning and how we can be praying for them.

    If you want to share something from your personal devotions to encourage them, this is most welcome!

    • Sit towards the back or at least keep an eye out on any late arrivals or anything else that requires a bit of leadership.

    • Keep an eye on the overall flow of the service and trouble shoot if anything is needed (more chairs, communion cups, etc).

    • Don’t start packing up too early - we want to allow people to chat.

    • Ensure that any connect cards are given to Jimmy, and that any money given is in the blue cash tin.

    • Thank volunteers and briefly check in with how it went and if there’s any feedback they have.

    • Doors locked

    • Windows shut

    • Lights and aircons off

    • Furniture back (see pics)

    • Floors spot-checked

    • Rubbish in wheelie bin
