LCC CARE FUND
THE BIBLE IS FILLED WITH NUMEROUS EXHORTATIONS TOWARDS GENEROSITY AND GIVING TO THOSE IN NEED. CONSIDER THE PASSAGE BELOW OF THE EARLY CHURCH.
And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
(Acts 2:44-45)
Likewise, reflect on James illustration of genuine faith of the believer
What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
(James 2:14-17)
There is no greater time for our faith in Jesus to be alive through generosity than right now. With great need comes great opportunity. An opportunity to love; opportunity to serve; opportunity to give, to those inside and outside our church. In this unique time God is presenting us an occasion to obey his command to love our neighbour. Let's do it LCC.
How to Care?
The best way to care is to simply meet the needs of those you know. You do not need permission to give people money, purchase and deliver groceries, pay someone's bill or organise a weekly meal. If you’re aware of a need and you can meet it, we encourage you to go ahead and meet it personally.
What is the Care Fund?
The Care Fund is a benevolence fund that goes directly to helping those persons or families affected by COVID-19. North Lakes and Caloundra each have their own fund accounts. See details below.
Why the Care Fund?
It is not uncommon for shame and humiliation to coincide with need. Therefore some people will not reach out. Yet others will inform us of those needs and we can meet them in a more private manner. Additionally, some may be willing to give but don't know the needs. The Care Fund allows the need to be met in a less direct manner, but met nonetheless. Additionally, some prefer to be generous anonymously.
What will the funds go to?
Funds will go towards gift vouchers, pre-paid Visa cards, food supplies etc. Cash will not be directly debited into people's accounts. If there are extra funds left over after the Corona virus ends, those funds will remain in these accounts for future benevolence use.
What is the selection process?
Differing amounts will be allocated depending on size of household. For example a family of four will be allocated a larger amount than a single young adult. These amounts have been decided by the board of elders of LCC.
Can people request funds?
Yes. Through the online form below.
Can people make multiple requests?
Yes. However decision makers will take into consideration the overall needs of those in the church and seek to maintain fairness of distribution.
How do I give?

Thank you for your gift. It will lead to much thanksgiving to God and we pray God will increase the harvest of your righteousness.
He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. By their approval of this service, they will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!
