FAQ's

All of the answers to some of the questions...

+ WHAT IS YOUR CHURCH'S MISSION STATEMENT?

Our Mission is to Make, Mature, and Multiply disciples and communities that declare and display the Good News of Jesus in all of life

+ HOW DO I BECOME PART OF THIS CHURCH?

Quite simply, come along to a Sunday service. We will do what we can to help you get plugged in, but it's also a two-way street. We encourage everyone who attends Sundays to get plugged into a Life Group as well. We also think serving is a great way to get connected too. Maybe that's why we have such a surplus of volunteers at the moment...?

+ DO I HAVE TO BE A CHRISTIAN TO COME?

Absolutely not. At LCC we often say that you can belong with us well and truly before you believe what we believe. You will quickly learn that every one of us has that same, continual need of the saving grace of Jesus Christ—none of us are perfect, so you’ll fit right in!

+ WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON SUNDAY?

Whatever you feel comfortable in. Our services are pretty low-key (non-formal). Whatever you would wear to do the shopping will work just fine for church!

+ HOW DOES THE KIDS PROGRAM OPERATE?

We want our kids to join us for worship, so the program begins just after the first set of music. We have two programs: Creche (for crawling kids and up) and Life Kids (for Kindy and up). All of our volunteers hold approved Blue Cards. While we don’t provide food during the program, you are more than welcome to send them along with a snack (just no peanuts please).

+ WHAT IS THE GOSPEL?

The Gospel is the good news of what God has graciously accomplished for sinners through the sinless life, sacrificial death, and bodily resurrection of his Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

+ WHAT DOES MISSION LOOK LIKE AT LCC?

We are pretty heavy on living missional lives and quite light on doing missional programs. Here’s what we mean: we believe the missional task that Jesus has given us (Matt 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 16:44-49; Acts 1:8) is an imperative of every disciple, not just one or two in the community, and so we prefer to equip and send.

+ WHAT IS ACTS 29 AND WHAT DOES IT MEAN THAT YOU ARE PART OF THEIR NETWORK?

Acts 29 is a Church Planting network that is passionate about healthy churches planting healthy churches. Quite simply, we are a part of the network because we believe that church planting is a wonderful and vital way to do mission in the world, and we want to see God's kingdom grow.

+ HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE KYLLUM?

It's pronounced KY-lum. Kind of like you are saying the words "Kyle" and "um" consecutively. Although most of us prefer to call him Lum or Lummy or Lumdog, or Lumdog Millionaire.

+ WHAT IF I HAVE OTHER QUESTIONS?

By all means get in contact with us! We would love to meet you, get to know you, and for you to get to know us.
