Update: Church Online Huddles - North Lakes
Life Centre North Lakes Huddles
Situation:
With COVID-19 and further restrictions being implemented across the country we have prayerfully decided to postpone all official church gatherings. We want to be good neighbours to believers and non-believers alike and need to play our part in flattening the curve. Flattening the curve involves slowing the spread of the virus so that the health system doesn’t become overwhelmed by everyone becoming unwell at one time. This also should help those who are vulnerable in our community either (1) avoid the virus altogether, or (2) get the virus at a time when a there are available resources and they can receive the care they need.
Goal:
For the next little while we want to be: the church gathered and scattered. While we are unable to gather in person we want to prioritise gatherings online. Huddling online together in faith, hope and love, will encourage our hearts and strengthen our hands in the face of uncertainty as we seek to care for one another.
Why huddle at all?:
As a church we have two convictions on this point: (1) that it is important to continue to gather for God’s glory and our good in accordance with the scriptures, (2) the gathering is good for us as social beings who are designed to live in community. We want to do this in a manner that is wise and responsible, and leverage the technology available.
Plan:
To have a collection of online huddles across our region of 10-20 people where we gather to check in, pray and worship in addition to broadcasting pre-recorded services online for all to access.
1) We have a form below where you can join an Online Huddle. This is for North Lakes church only.
2) Our Huddle leaders will contact you.
3) These Church Online Huddles will seek to gather online through various forms (Zoom, FaceTime etc)
In these huddles we’re going to attempt to execute what it looks like to be a church family that love and care for each other while not being able to gather in our usual way.
NOTE: We know this is difficult and we all feel it. This is merely a surrogate until we can return to our normal gatherings.
Finally: Church Online we be happening each Sunday at 9:30am. Please follow the link and join us each Sunday morning. There you can join us for worship, Bible reading and sitting under God's preached word together. It's actually going to be really great. lifecentrechurch.online.church/
FAQs:
Are we still doing Life Groups?
Yes/No. This will be our Life Groups but they will be a little different.
Is this for everyone?
YES. We cannot encourage this enough. The more we can gather together online the better for our souls. Our hope is to get every member of our church into a Church Online Huddles
Are we all doing this at the same time?
Church Online will be 9:30am each week. Therefore it will always be together. Church Huddles Online may look a little different. Each group leader will contact you with a time that groups can meet weekly online.
How long is this going to last?
We don't know. Essentially until it is wise, responsible and loving to do so, and the restrictions are clearly lifted. And for this we cannot wait.
